The Word of God is your faith food. It strengthens your spirit, sharpens your discernment, and equips you to walk boldly in your purpose and calling. Faith comes by hearing the Word, so spending at least 20 minutes daily in scripture is essential. If you want to know God's will, you must know His

How to Study the Bible and Grow in Your Faith

One of the most powerful decisions you can make is to commit to studying the Word of God. Not just reading it, but diving in with expectation, listening for the Holy Spirit’s voice, and applying what you learn to your life. The Bible is not just a book of ancient stories. It is alive. It speaks. It corrects, instructs, strengthens, and transforms. When you open the Word, you are not just gaining information. You are receiving divine revelation that changes the way you live, think, pray, and respond.

Many people ask, “How do I actually study the Bible?” The truth is, it is simpler than you think, and it is life-changing when done with intention and faith. Start by inviting the Holy Spirit to teach you before you read. Choose a Bible translation that speaks clearly to your heart. I often recommend the NLT, AMP, or TPT for devotional reading. Take your time. Do not rush. Focus on a chapter or a short passage each day and ask, What is God saying to me through this? How does this apply to my life right now? Is there a promise to believe, a truth to declare, or an instruction to obey?

To help you build consistency, I have created a simple Bible Reading Plan that you can follow daily. Whether you are new to the Word or looking to go deeper, this plan will guide you through key passages that build your faith, renew your mind, and draw you closer to the heart of God. You do not have to do it alone. Invite a friend, a group, or even your family to read along with you. There is power in shared revelation and accountability.

Remember, you are not just checking off chapters. You are planting seeds of truth that will produce a harvest in your life. Keep showing up. Keep seeking Him in the Word. God will speak, and when He does, your life will never be the same.

Making the Most of Your Time in the Word

Here’s a step-by-step approach to make your Bible study time more fruitful:

  1. Begin with Prayer
Invite the Holy Spirit to speak to you and give you understanding. Ask Him to make the Word come alive in your heart.
  2. Choose a Focus
Select a theme, topic, or book of the Bible. You don’t have to read a lot—just study deeply and listen for God’s voice.
  3. Read with Purpose
Use a clear translation like NLT, TPT, AMP, or ESV. Read slowly, maybe more than once. Highlight or underline what stands out.
  4. Ask Questions
What is God showing me? What does this teach me about His character? How can I apply this truth in my life today?
  5. Write It Down
Journal what God reveals to you. Keep track of key scriptures, insights, and personal reflections.
  6. Pray the Word
Turn the scriptures into personal prayers and declarations. This seals it in your spirit and activates your faith.
